SUSTAINABLE LIVELIHOODS

In the context of increasingly serious impacts of climate change, the role of forests and natural resources needs more attention from authorities as well as the community. Forest and resource management not only helps maintain ecosystem functions but also brings stable and sustainable socio-economic values, especially an extremely important source of livelihood for local communities. Over the years, CCD has been playing a very active role in forest and resource management in many localities in Vietnam.
CCD provides technical support to national parks, conservation areas, biosphere reserves and protection forests in Vietnam in the process of developing plans for sustainable management and use of forests and natural resources. CCD also builds community-based forest management/natural resource management models, forms household/cooperative group models to raise awareness and capacity for people, promotes collective economy, moves towards management models according to national and international standards, creating stable and sustainable livelihoods for local communities.
